Slip the Surly Bonds

“Slip the Surly Bonds” was commissioned by Cynthia Eisenmann in memory of her dad who was a flyer and a pilot during WWII and for the rest of his life. It utilizes the spiritual “His Eye Is On the Sparrow” and the Air Force Hymn as material. The piece can easily be performed without the vocal prelude but is so much more effective when included. Vocal soloist on this recording is Jeanne Hudon.
